Hi, I'm Tess Mabbitt-Mair!

Yoga has always offered me that powerful blend of mental, physical, and spiritual healing. Movement has always been a form of medicine for me, and yoga became the perfect concoction for nurturing me physically, mentally and spiritually.

I’m a mother of three boys. When I became pregnant with my first baby, I felt compelled to take care of myself and tune into my physical and mental needs, even more than I ever had previously.

In 2023, I introduced the course Move and Breathe from Bump through to Birth, a journey that honours the transformative path from pregnancy to childbirth.

My yoga and breathwork practice evolved greatly and supported me through pregnancy and beyond.

My yoga practice has been a constant support in my life since my early 20’s. For some years I practiced religiously everyday, in other seasons of my life I have simply rolled out my mat when I really needed it, and since becoming a mother… its simply when I can squeeze in time!

I completed my initial yoga teacher training in 2014 with the esteemed Allie Hill at yogahaven London. Since then, I’ve joined their team of teacher trainers, where I get to mentor and lead aspiring students on their journey to becoming yoga teachers. I find immense joy in guiding trainees and engaging in thoughtful discussions about yoga history and philosophy.

Since training with yogahaven I went on to complete my Ashtanga teacher training in 2016 in India at the Tattvaa Yogashala under the guidance of Yogi Kamal Singh.

Ashtanga will always be my “first love”, it was the practice that helped me realize how truly transformational a regular practice can be for the mind and body.

More recently, my studies under the guidance of the brilliant Laurent Roure, have been focused on pranayama, and yoga Nidra, and the more subtle and therapeutic practices.

In 2019, while pregnant with my first son, I pursued training in prenatal and postnatal yoga. Guiding expectant mothers through a yoga practice holds a special place in my heart, and I hope to continue this beautiful journey for years to come.

My classes always have a firm focus on how to control and utilize the breath, wether practising pre and postnatal, my up- beat Ashtanga, gentle beginners, dynamic vinyasa, or slow mindful Hatha.

A balance of honouring the ancient traditions, but with space to laugh and ‘let go’ is my goal.

My aim as a yoga teacher is to encourage others to find stillness, control, connection and focus, but ultimately enjoying that much needed “time out” on the mat.
